Kodachadri, also known as “Jasmine of the hills”, the 10th highest in Karnataka and the origin of the Souparnika River, 33 km from Kollur Mookambika temple is steeped in spiritual myths and legends. 

Trekking to the top of Kodachadri has a spiritual aspect to it. Even from earlier days devotees who visited Mookambika temple in Kollur used to trek to Kodachadri to attain salvation. 

It’s a beautiful time of the year to visit the amazing flora and fauna.

Short Itinerary:

Day 0: Start from Bangalore at 10 PM from kalamandir, Marathalli and reach Kodachadri early morning, journey is of 8-9 hours

Day 1: Reach Kodachadri beautiful homestay, which is right next to a river.

  • Freshen up and have south Indian breakfast with tea/coffee and get set ready for the adventurous trek ride.
  • There will be thrilling jeep ride half way towards the Kodachadri peak and then we will trek for 2 kms (one -side).
  • You can enjoy your packed lunch now and enjoy the views, Let’s return and get ready to check out your next destination, let’s geared up and and enjoy the jeep ride to reach towards the Hidlumane Falls, there will be short 1 Km trek to reach the last destination
  • Take a fresh breathe of air and just soak in your feet in a calm waterfall.
  • Don’t forget to click pictures in your journey
  • Reach back to homestay and have snacks and get ready for bonfire and lovely dinner.
  • Have a pleasant sleep

Day 2:

  • Wakey Wakey, Enjoy a serene view of your homestay and enjoy riverside breakfast, Check out and get ready for some more sightseeing
  • Today, you will enjoy  Nagara Fort and Hanging Bridge on your way back to Bangalore, you will halt at the restaurant for lunch.
  • Once done sightseeing you will start your journey to bangalore, you will reach early morning by 4/5 AM. Time to say goodbye and refresh memories as you say sayonara to your trip buddies.

Covid-19 Precutions

  1. Trip is applicable for vaccinated travellers, if you have taken single vaccine, you can do RT-PCR before your travel. Your health and safety is of utmost importance to us.

  3. If you have taken vaccination just before your travel date, avoid doing the exertion

Things to carry

  1. Mask and Sanitiser (Take at least 70% alcohol)
  2. A small and sturdy 20-litre backpack, a couple of 1-litre water bottles,
  3. A rain jacket owing to the unpredictable Kodachadri weather,
  4. A cap for sun protection, some energy-snacks and a basic first aid kit will do just fine.
  5. A comfortable pair of shoes having decent grip is an absolute must (Waterproofing though not compulsory will have added benefits while crossing waterfalls or streams).
  6. Trousers or track pants offer slightly better protection against those hungry leaches over shorts but those suckers will manage to find their way inside nevertheless.
  7. Cash (ATM/Paytm might not work due to low internet bandwidth at some places)
  8. Power banks (not mandatory)
  9. Personal medication
