Detailed Itinerary

Day 00 CHANDIGARH TO KASOL
Take a Semi Sleeper Volvo overnight bus

DAY 01) KASOL TO CHALAAL
Upon reaching Kasol and a bit of walking, Reach your homestay cottage. Enjoy the greener and a happier space Take some rest and have your fill of breakfast. Once you are up and ready, it will be time to explore the Little Amsterdam while making our way to Chalal. While a walk through the lanes of Kasol, you will notice many Israeli cafes and shops to buy your souvenirs from. Gradually, we will walk towards, what is known as Trance and Psychedelic party village- Chalaal. This little village is tucked in the conifer dense forest. The walk doesnt take more than 2 hours hyphenated with breaks. One can sit at the end of the village admiring the beauty of fiercely flowing Parvati river.

Later in the evening, we will come back to the homestay; dance the night away around a bonfire while having taste-buds teasing dinner.

DAY 02) Trek to Grahan Village
Imagine yourself holding a cup of tea around snow clad mountains and an excitement to explore a hidden gem of Grahan Village. Today would be the day to amp up your walking game and embark on the route of Grahan Village which is the base camp of Sar Pass.The trek to Grahan village starts from Kasol, and one would roughly take 4 hrs-5 hrs to cover a distance of 9kms. The trail begins right before the bridge that falls before the Kasol central bus-stand. The track is more or less marked-out with red arrows throughout, but still, there is a fair chance that you will get lost, aesthetically. During the hike, one would go through dense forests intermittent with the sound of birds and the buzzing of bees there is one element that wont leave you all the way- Parvati river. It is only in the last 150 meters of the hike that one would start to see the houses in the village and what a view it is. Mostly the houses are built in a traditional way and some of them are almost 200-250 years old. Roam around the village and play along with the kids who will be found at every nook and corner of the village. At night, have your piping hot meal around the warmth of the bonfire while listening to the sound of silence.

DAY 03) TREK FROM GRAHAN TO TOSH/kheerganga
Next day, wake up to a beautiful sunrise and after having breakfast, gear up for climbing down.
From here we will experience the Local Bus travelling through Kasol Village, Manikaran Gurudwara & Barsheni. Arrival at Barsheni. Here you will be meeting your guide and start a Trek to TOSH. Tosh is at a height of 7,874 feet. It is a land blessed by Shiva, they say, and the local priest asserts to visions of the lord with his consort Parvati when snow falls. The drive from Kasol to Tosh parking stand is around an hours drive and the last becomes a wee bit treacherous. Upon reaching, we will start our trek- one of the most beautiful scenic routes that you will experience. This little hamlet, constantly, dwarfed by intimidating mountains is at the heart of Parvati Hydel Project. It’s a goat track which traverses the hill with gradual inclines and declines. Upon reaching waterfalls, The only thing you expect to do here is sit, relax and unwind your senses. Listen to the beautiful sound of gushing water, and the night ends with fun and laughter. Please do not litter and also be mindful of their culture and heritage and you will always want to come back.

DAY 04) CHECK OUT
If you want to get teleported to a wonderland- make a point to wake up early and enjoy the magnanimous rising sun. Get ready and it will be time to return back to Kasol. Savor every view while going back. Upon reaching Kasol, it will be time to bid adieu with a promise to meet again!

If you are coming by your own to Kasol:

For Kheerganga trail, our base camp is at Kasol which is linked by road to Kullu via Bhuntar. It is 5 km short of Manikaran, famous for hot water springs.
Regular bus service is available from Kullu and Bhuntar to reach Kasol. Direct buses are also available to Manikaran from Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab.
Nearest railhead are Joginder Nagar, Pathankot and Chandigarh.

Nearest airport is Bhuntar. Delux, Semi Delux and ordinary night/day buses are available from Delhi, Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab.

Take a bus from Delhi and Reach Bhuntar – 12-13 hours
Take a local bus from Bhuntar to Kasol 30 minutes
